Acetaia San Matteo – From the sky to the barrel
A virtual tour that tells the story of a family and its balsamic vinegar: from the drone view over the vineyards to the attics where the barrels age.
Acetaia San Matteo is a country house just outside Modena, among vineyards and orchards, which – as the owners put it – «still smells of grandma's cakes». Here a family makes Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. We created this tour in 2020 as a personal project, with a clear idea: a virtual tour is not just a sequence of rooms, it can tell a story. It starts from above, with a 360° drone view over the estate, and moves down step by step: the courtyard, the vineyard, the room where the must is cooked, all the way to the attics where the barrels rest for years under white cloths. In several rooms, info points open interviews with the owners, who describe in their own words the gestures and the timing of the tradition. Visitors don't just look at the acetaia: they get to know it.
