Digitart – Art you can visit from anywhere
Spring 2020: museums close, and we bring them online. That's how Digitart was born – virtual art galleries for museums, galleries and artists.
In spring 2020, with the lockdown, museums and galleries closed their doors. With our “Solidarietà virtuale” (virtual solidarity) campaign we offered to reopen them online: within a few weeks, the Museo comunale d'arte moderna and the Castello San Materno in Ascona, the Pinacoteca cantonale Giovanni Züst in Rancate and the Kunstmuseum Luzern, with Marion Baruch's newly opened retrospective, could be visited in 3D from home. The initiative caught on: the Kunstmuseum Luzern and Galerie Urs Meile, the artist's gallery in Lucerne and Beijing, published the tour on their websites, and the Ticino press covered it. Out of that experience, together with Christina Ioannou, an expert in cultural communication, Digitart was born: virtual art galleries for museums, galleries and artists. Projects include the exhibition “Spring in Your Step” at the Lullin + Ferrari gallery in Zurich, a series of virtual galleries for emerging artists at the end of 2021 and, in 2022, the virtual exhibition “Africa Next” for the Stelva group's art collection in Lugano. An exhibition lasts a few weeks; its tour stays. For a museum it is an archive you can walk through; for an artist, a portfolio to show anyone, anywhere.
