Moto dell'Arte – At the Consulate General of Italy in Lugano
November 2022: motorcycles from the Centauri collection alongside works by major Italian artists, for three days at the Consulate General of Italy in Lugano. The tour keeps the exhibition open.
From 16 to 18 November 2022, the Consulate General of Italy in Lugano hosted “Moto dell'Arte”, an exhibition by Stelva Artist in Residence, produced with the Consulate and Banca del Sempione. The idea: to place the most iconic Italian motorcycles next to works by Italian artists, and to look at the motorcycle as a design object, on a par with a painting. The eleven motorcycles came from the Centauri collection: from the 1976 Moto Guzzi Le Mans to the 2008 MV Agusta F4, by way of the Ducati 916 Monoposto and the Bimota YB10. Alongside them, works by Valerio Adami, Luigi Veronesi, Marcello Morandini, Claudio Verna and other leading figures of Italian art from the second half of the 20th century. For Stelva we produced the virtual tour of the exhibition. Not just the rooms: every motorcycle can be spun through 360° and zoomed in, thanks to the shots taken for the Centauri vault, and has its own card with the model's history and technical data, from engine size to top speed. Every work has its card too, with artist, title and story. The exhibition lasted three days; the tour keeps it open, for those who weren't there and for those who want to see it again.
